Jones, who calls himself the “undefeated heavyweight champion,” defends the heavyweight championship for the first time. Francis Ngannou relinquished the title before Jones won it. Stipe MIocic, who has successfully defended the most titles in the big-man class, is in his way.
Jiri Prochazka, the former light-heavyweight champion, fights in the co-main event for the first time since having to give up the title due to a shoulder injury. Former middleweight champion Alex Pereira, who moved up a category after losing the title in a rematch against rival Israel Adesanya, makes his second appearance at 205 pounds. In only his 11th professional MMA encounter, Pereira is vying for champ-champ status.
